Key Energy Services, LLC Case Settles for $51,750
Key Energy Services, LLC agreed to pay $51,750.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations; $38,812.50 will go to the California Air Pollution Control Fund and $12,937.50 to the Peralta Community College District for distribution to participating California Council on Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) colleges. This settlement was reached in May 2011.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Key Energy Services, LLC failed to comply with the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP) by not smoke testing all diesel vehicles in its fleet. To settle the case, Key Energy Services agreed to the $51,750.00 penalty and to comply with the PSIP.
