Key Disposal, Inc. Case Settles for $5,000

In March 2015, Key Disposal, Inc. agreed to pay $5,000 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $5,000 went to Diesel Emission Reduction Fund, which provides funding research, development, and demonstration programs to improve California's air quality.

An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Key Disposal, Inc. the Heavy Duty Diesel Inspection Program (HDVIP) which prohibits the use of a heavy-duty diesel truck that emits excessive smoke. ARB documented violations as they related to the HDVIP. To settle the case, Key Disposal, Inc. agreed to the $5,000 penalty and correct the HDVIP violations.
