Kafko International Ltd. Case Settles for $4,000

A consumer products case was settled on October 27, 2014 with Kafko International, Ltd., for allowing non-compliant “Oil Eater Orange Cleaner Degreaser” to be sold into the state of California between April 2011 and December 2012. This product exceeded the 4% by weight VOC limit set under Consumer Products Regulation for non-aerosol general purpose cleaning products specified in title 17, California Code of Regulations (CCR), section 94509(a). Kafko International, Ltd., paid $4,450 to settle the case which resulted in 0.076 tons of excess emissions.
