JP Designs Case Settles for $2,000

During our ongoing investigation into the sale and use of non-California certified Off-Highway Recreational Vehicles (OHRV), staff for the Mobile Source Enforcement Section discovered that JP designs, located in Santee, Calif., offered for sale and sold to a California resident an illegal non-California certified sand car.  This is a violation of California Health and Safety Code Section 43150 through 43153.  JP designs paid into the Air Pollution Control Fund $2,000 in penalties to settle these violations.  This settlement was reached in August 2009.
