$2,000 in Fines Paid by Joar Labs, Inc.

On August 4, 2005, a case was settled with Joar Labs Incorporated, for a payment of $2,000. A notice of violation was issued to the company on May 9, 2005, for selling approximately 3,163 units of Fresh Concepts Core Strength Hard Holding Gel into California. The sample products were obtained from Angels Beauty Center, Incorporated in San Diego, California. The samples exceeded the 6 percent by weight volatile organic compound (VOC) limit for hair styling gels effective January 1, 1994.
