Jimmie Johnson Chevrolet Case Settles for $5,000
In July 2010, the ARB reached a settlement with Jimmie Johnson Chevrolet (JJ) that included a $5,000 penalty to the California Air Pollution Fund for offering for sale and selling modified engines in California without receiving an ARB Executive Order. An investigation by the ARB showed that between January 1, 2010 and February 23, 2010, JJ Kearny Mesa Chevrolet offered for sale modified MY2010 Chevy Camaros (under 7,500 odometer miles) for use or registration in California. The modifications to the new MY2010 vehicles render them uncertified and illegal for sale in California and are in violation of Health and Safety Code sections 43151 through 43153. The case settled in July 2010, for $5,000.
