JDL Fragrances, Incorporated Settles For $3,000
In May 2022, the California Air Resources Board (CARB) reached a settlement with JDL Fragrances, Incorporated (JDL), with its principal location in Port Saint Lucie, Florida, in the amount of $3,000 for the company’s violation of CARB’s air quality regulations.
CARB staff conducted an investigation that revealed JDL imported products that failed to meet the high volatility organic compound (HVOC) limit requirements for an aerosol deodorant spray. CARB documented violations as they related to the Consumer Products Regulations (Cal. Code Regs., tit. 17, § 94500 et seq.).
To settle the case, JDL agreed to the penalty of $3,000. Terms of the settlement include a requirement that JDL increase scrutiny of the compliance of imported products. JDL fully cooperated with CARB to resolve this matter. The $3,000 will be deposited into CARB’s Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality.
