Jake's Towing & Recovery, Inc. Settlement
Jake's Towing & Recovery, Inc. Case Settles for $750
In August 2012, Jake’s Towing & Recovery, Inc. agreed to pay $750 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $562.50 will go to the California Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $187.50 will go to Peralta Community College District to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) program.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Jake’s Towing & Recovery, Inc. failed to ensure that their heavy-duty diesel fleet met the PM-BACT requirements for 2011. ARB documented violations as they related to the Truck & Bus Regulation. To settle the case, Jake’s Towing & Recovery, Inc. agreed to the $750 penalty and to comply with the requirements of the Truck & Bus regulation, and all other ARB diesel emission regulations.
