$6,750 in Fines Paid by J B Transportation

J B Transportation will pay $6,750 in penalties $5,062.50 to the California Air Pollution Control Fund, $843.75 to the Peralta Community College District for distribution to participating California Council on Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) colleges) and $843.75 to the California Pollution Control Financing Authority, for violating air quality regulations.  This settlement was reached onFebruary 13, 2009.  An investigation by the ARB showed that J B Transportation failed to properly self-inspect the portion of their diesel powered fleet that falls under the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP).  To settle the case, J B Transportation, agreed to the $6,750 penalty and to comply with ARB regulations.
