INTERPARFUMS S.A. Settles For $3,000
In April 2025, the California Air Resources Board (CARB) reached a settlement with INTERPARFUMS S.A. (Interparfums) with its principal location in Paris, France, for the company’s violation of the Regulation for Reducing Emissions from Consumer Products (Consumer Products Regulation), as codified in the California Code of Regulations, title 17, section 94507 et seq.
A CARB Enforcement Division investigation revealed that Interparfums sold, supplied, offered for sale, or manufactured for use in California, personal fragrance products that utilized a code to represent the date of manufacture. The company failed to provide an explanation of the code annually to CARB, as required under California Code of Regulations, title 17, section 94512(c)(1).
Interparfums fully cooperated with CARB to resolve this matter. To come into compliance, the company submitted an explanation of the code to CARB, which was satisfactory. The penalty assessment of $3,000 for failing to meet administrative requirements will be deposited into CARB’s Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California’s air quality.
