Other libraries provide an alternate source of documents and journals which may not be available in the CalEPA Library. To take advantage of these resources, the CalEPA library offers interlibrary loan and document delivery service for staff.
California State Library Catalog
The California State Library is the main research library for state government, providing reference and information services to all state government employees, as well as specialized objective and nonpartisan services to the Legislature, the Governor’s Office and other offices led by state constitutional officers.
Melvyl
Melvyl contains the combined records of the University of California’s 10 campuses. Holdings include books, journals, maps, videos, and sound recordings. Melvyl also contains the holdings of the California State Library, California Academy of Sciences, California Historical Society, Center for Research Libraries, and the Graduate Theological Union.
California State University Libraries Catalogs
The California State University systems consists of 23 campuses found throughout the state. The CSU library system offers a wide variety of materials that can be accessed via individual campus library websites. Closest to the CalEPA Library is the California State University, Sacramento at http://library.csus.edu/.
Library of Congress
The Library of Congress is one of the largest libraries in the world, providing research to Congress and various information services to the rest of the library community.
Sacramento Public Library
The Sacramento Public Library is comprised of some 26 branches located throughout the city with the main Central Library located across the street from CalEPA Headquarters. Among services offered, SPL provides access to a variety of online databases, several being in the subject areas of business and several providing full text/citation access to newspapers and magazines. Many of these databases can be accessed from staff workstations (using a public library card). A centralized telephone reference service, TELIS, is also available: 916-264-2920.
U.S. EPA Online Library System (OLS)
The EPA National Library Network, established in 1971, is composed of libraries in the U.S. EPA’s headquarters, regional and field office research centers, and specialized laboratories located throughout the country.
