Insta-Fire, Incorporated Settles for $20,000
In October 2020, the California Air Resources Board settled a case with Insta-Fire, Incorporated (Insta-Fire) of Ogden, Utah. The manufacturer sold Charcoal Lighter Materials in California that were not certified as specified in title 17, California Code of Regulations, (17 CCR) section 94509(h). Additionally, the products did not display a date of manufacture, as required in 17 CCR section 94512(b). Insta-Fire paid $20,000 in penalties for these violations. To come into compliance, Insta-Fire will only sell certified products with the required labeling in California.
