CARB has verified the HUSS, Incorporated FS-MK filter as a Level 3 Plus diesel emission control system for use with certain on-road diesel engines rated to at most 810 horsepower. The FS-MK series of filters uses a silicon carbide wall-flow filter with a fuel burner for regeneration to achieve an 85 percent reduction in particulate matter emissions. In addition, the HUSS FS-MK filter may be used with diesel fuel that contains as much as 20 percent biodiesel. Specific conditions for which the FS-MK has been approved may be found in the Executive Orders. HUSS has an approved re-designation policy but does not allow filter swapping.
