Hoyu America Company Case Settles for $110,000
A case was settled with Hoyu America Company for selling a hair styling product into California that contained concentrations of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) that exceeded the standards specified in Title 17, CCR, section 94509(a). This product was sold from January 2013 to November 2015 and resulted in 11.11 tons of excess VOC emissions attributable to the violation. To resolve the violation, Hoyu America Company paid $110,000 in penalties. Hoyu America Company is no longer manufacturing this hair styling product; and therefore is in compliance with the Consumer Products Regulations.
