Hot Topic, Inc. Case Settles for $5,600

On April 25, 2016, a case was settled with Hot Topic, Inc. for selling in California the “Color Fiend Temporary Hair Color Spray” product that is subject to the Temporary Hair Color category.  The product contained concentrations of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) exceeding the 55 percent by weight VOC limit for the category.  The excess VOC emissions based on the sales of this product between August 2011 and February 2015 were approximately 0.12 tons.  The company paid $5,600 to settle the case.
