The Honest Company, Inc. Company Case Settles for $37,050

The Honest Company, Inc. (Los Angeles, California) sold, supplied, and/or offered for sale a non-compliant General Purpose Cleaner: Nonaerosol in California. Enforcement staff purchased a sample of Honest Glass + Window Cleaner that contained concentrations of volatile organic compounds (VOC) that exceeded the 0.5 percent limit for the General Purpose Cleaner: Nonaerosol category specified in title 17, California Code of Regulations, section 94509(a). The violation resulted in 2.32 tons of excess VOC emissions. The settlement was fully executed in November 2018. The Honest Company, Inc. has agreed to pay a penalty of $37,050 and has ceased all sales of the product in California.
