HF Marine Inc. Settles For $37,000
In May 2025, the California Air Resources Board (CARB) reached a settlement with HF Marine Inc. (HF Marine), with its principal location in Ball Ground, Georgia for the company’s violation of CARB’s air quality regulations under the Evaporative Emissions Requirements for Spark-Ignition Marine Watercraft with Gasoline-Fueled Engines Regulation (SIMW Evaporative Regulation) as codified in California Code of Regulations, title 13, sections 2850-2869.
To settle the case HF Marine agreed to the per unit penalty of $1,000 for 37 noncompliant SIMW vessels, for a total penalty of $37,000. The civil penalty of $37,000 will be deposited into CARB’s Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality.
Terms of the settlement include a requirement for HF Marine to comply with all CARB regulations going forward. HF Marine cooperated with CARB to resolve this matter.
