Hendrick Automotive Group Case Settles for $12,500
In July 2010, the ARB reached a settlement with Hendrick Automotive Group (HAG) that included a $12,500 penalty to the California Air Pollution Fund for marketing and assisting in the sale of modified engines in California without receiving an ARB Executive Order. An investigation by the ARB showed that between August 26, 2009 and June 4, 2010, HAG assisted in the modification and sale of new MY2010 Chevy Camaros (fewer than 7,500 odometer miles) for use or registration in California. The modifications to the new MY2010 vehicles render them uncertified and illegal for sale in California and are in violation of Health and Safety Code sections 43151 through 43153. The case settled in July 2010, for $12,500.
