Heat Makes Sense INC., Settles For $3,800
In August 2019, the California Air Resources Board reached a mutual settlement with Heat Makes Sense, Incorporated of Brooklyn, New York. The manufacturer was in violation for selling noncompliant Hair Styling: aerosol and pump spray products in California, which contained concentrations of volatile organic compounds (VOC) that exceeded the standards specified in title 17, California Code of Regulations section 94509(a). Heat Makes Sense Inc. paid $3,800 in penalties for 0.21 tons of excess VOC emissions. To come into compliance, Heat Makes Sense Inc. quit selling the product and plans to use the Product Determination program to ensure their products are compliant.
