Graciela Mendoza Settles For $500.00
In June 2020, the California Air Resources Board (CARB) and Graciela Mendoza reached a settlement in the amount of $500.00 for the violation of California’s air quality regulations. The penalty will go into the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality.
An investigation by CARB showed that Graciela Mendoza failed to properly self-inspect diesel trucks to ensure the trucks met state smoke emission standards. CARB documented the violations as they related to the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP). In addition to the penalty payment, Graciela Mendoza agreed to comply with the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program, and other applicable CARB regulations.
