$5,000 in Fines Paid by GMS
On November 27, 2007, a case was settled with GMS products for selling units of Miracle Shine into California that was in violation of the 4 percent by weight VOC limit for non-aerosol General Purpose Cleaners, Title 17, California Code of Regulations, Section 94509(a). The company was also in violation of the date code requirement, Section 94512(b) for not clearly displaying on each consumer product container or package, the day, month, and year on which the products were manufactured or a code indicating such date. The company paid $5,000 in penalties to settle the case.
