Gillies Trucking Inc. Case Settles for $15,000.00
Gillies Trucking, Inc agreed to pay $15,000.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations; $11,250 will go to the California Air Pollution Control Fund and $3,750 to the Peralta Community College District for distribution to participating California Council on Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) colleges. This settlement was reached in December 2012.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Gillies Trucking, Inc failed to comply with the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP) Regulation by failing to test trucks in 2010 and 2011 as required per the regulation. To settle this case, Gillies Trucking Inc agreed to the $15,000.00 penalty and to comply with the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program.
