Giese Trucking Corp Case Settles for $12,750
Giese Trucking Corp will pay $12,750 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $12,750 will go to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality. This settlement was reached in July 2017.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Giese Trucking Corp failed to perform annual vehicle smoke opacity testing on all applicable trucks in their diesel fleet. ARB documented violations as they related to the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP) as codified in California Code of Regulations, title 13, section 2180-2194 (13 CCR § 2180-2194). To settle the case, Giese Trucking Corp agreed to the $12,750 penalty and to comply with PSIP and other ARB programs.
