Genuine Scooters LLC Case Settles for $300,000
An investigation by the Mobile Source Enforcement Section (MSES) revealed that Genuine Scooters LLC (Genuine) of Chicago, Illinois sold and introduced into commerce scooters that were not certified by ARB as meeting California emissions standards.
Prior to obtaining its ARB Executive Order, Genuine, through its dealer network, offered for sale and/or sold in California 2008 model-year on-road scooters of two of more prior model-year designations for use or registration in California that were not certified for sale or use in California.
Upon learning that the appropriate certifications had not been obtained, Genuine fully cooperated with ARB in the investigation. The case was settled in May 2011 for three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000).
