Garcoa, Incorporated Case Settles for $3,000

In May 2019, a case was settled with Garcoa, Incorporated (Calabasas, California) for manufacturing Astringent/Toner products offered for sale in California that contained concentrations of volatile organic compounds (VOC) that exceeded the standard specified in the Consumer Product Regulation, title 17, California Code of Regulations section 94509(a). Garcoa, Incorporated sold the Astringent/Toner products to CWC Inventories (St. Louis, Missouri), which later entered into California commerce. Garcoa, Incorporated paid $3,000 in penalties for excess VOC emissions. In order to come into compliance, Garcoa, Incorporated no longer offers the product for commerce.
