We here at 352 Innovation are currently developing curriculums and training programs that will launch H2ICE conversion vocational training with plans to expand into zero emission powertrain conversion training with the support from a top engine research facility and a SoCal community college. H2ICE provides an interim option for the consumer and fleet owners to support decarbonization efforts at a reduced cost. H2ICE provides an option that allows hot rodders and classic car enthusiasts to keep the rumble while losing the emissions. Manufacturers are playing the sounds of performance engines through the speakers of EVs. Consumers are not at liberty to give up the sound, the feel and the love of combustion engines. Hydrogen combustion engines CAN and WILL earn their zero emission badge because NO one made any optimized engine hardware until a few years ago. H2ICE may have been patented, on my birthday, in 1807 but it was Herr Otto, Herr Maybach, and Herr Daimler who gave us the atomization carburetor, 70 years later. They gave us that fuel delivery component because they struggled to predict and control when combustion would occur. So they ran their engine on hydrogen gas while they developed the carb, and here we are, full circle, back to hydrogen. Thank you for this workshop, taking our comments, and I appreciate this opportunity to provide a comment to advocate for the commercialization of H2ICE. Attached is our paper - The Case for H2ICE.
