CARB's Carbon Reduction Goals are Based on Unrealistic CCS Assumptions

The lead document is CGNP's 1 page essay, the California CCS Folly.  As CGNP's July 30, 2023 Reply Comments in CPUC Proceeding R2301007 note, California already has the most expensive motor fuel in the country. Increasing cap-and-trade costs for motor fuel will only exacerbate the burden on the middle class and the poor. The likely cause for these harmful policies is aggressive lobbying by special interests that will derive substantial economic benefits. Furthermore the needlessly short time (3 weeks) allowed for public comments increases the special interest influence  Californians need a serious pause regarding moving forward with these consequential policies.
