I know that CARB is studying hydrogen use, and I am writing to tell you that I do not want hydrogen in my community. Putting more hydrogen in my neighborhood would perpetuate the impacts of polluting gas infrastructure such as asthma, air pollution, truck and refinery explosions, and flaring. Every day, industry spews pollution from producing hydrogen into the neighborhoods near the oil refineries. CARB should recognize that hydrogen production is a threat to air quality and requires a transition to zero-emission technology before it thinks about ramping up demand for hydrogen. Hydrogen is an expensive handout to the gas industry that hurts environmental justice communities, not a climate solution. Sincerely, Mia File Upload (i.e., Attachments): N/A N/A
