The Trump administration’s rollbacks are extremely harmful on all levels. California must respond with strong state-level incentives for EVs, accelerated clean car and truck commitments, expanded charging infrastructure, especially for renters, and new policies that make greenhouse gas emitters and fossil fuel companies pay (monetarily and otherwise) for the damages they have knowingly done and continue to do. Stronger clean vehicle standards won’t just help Californians — they will influence policies around the country and promote the industries of the future.
