California ZEV Policies

Greetings

Personally, I am all for and continue to support efforts by CARB for clean air. But some your policies seem to have gone too far without proper considerations for the cost to consumers and tax payers. As an owner of a clean diesel motorhome, my purchase price of my new bore a significant increase in price associated with the mandatory installation of the engine's clean emission systems. As you can imagine, manufacturers pass these additional costs to consumers such as myself. In addition to the initial costs, I also have to bear the ongoing cost of repairs, maintenance, and special fuel costs required for these emission systems in order to keep them functioning properly. Now I am hit with an unreasonable new requirement of having my motorhome checked twice a year for smog. This requirement, while may be reasonable for dirty diesel trucks or even older diesel motorhomes, should not and must not apply to newer clean diesel motorhomes. it is an unfair and costly additional burden that your agency is placing on owners of newer clean motorhomes. I hope you can see the reasoning and reconsider/revise your new policy.

Respectfully,
