Joint POU Letter RE: AB 1594 3.24.25

CMUA, NCPA, and SCPPA would like to submit the attached letter to CARB Chair Randolph and Executive Officer Cliff regarding the AB 1594 rulemaking. We appreciate CARB’s recent decision to delay releasing the AB 1594 rulemaking language. It is our hope that the AB 1594 rulemaking will address the necessary changes to ensure that the advanced clean fleets rule promotes fleet electrification without compromising the responsibilities of public agency utilities to effectively respond to emergency events and maintain essential water and electric utility services.

We look forward to having productive conversations with CARB about implementing AB 1594.
