Submitted Comment Name Will Cialone Affiliation N/A Subject AggrePlex of Modesto to join the Workshop on Building Embodied Carbon Message Dear CARB Team, Thank you for the opportunity to engage in this important process. We at AggrePlex are excited to introduce ourselves and contribute to California’s ambitious goals of reducing embodied carbon in building materials. At AggrePlex, we produce ground glass pozzolan, a sustainable alternative to traditional cementitious materials, designed to reduce the carbon footprint of construction projects. We recognize the critical role accurate reporting plays in achieving the state’s climate objectives, and we’re committed to supporting CARB in getting the reporting and baseline processes right. As part of our input, we’d like to highlight a few key policies mentioned on Slide 13 that are highly relevant to our work: - The Buy Clean California Act sets GWP (Global Warming Potential) limits for key materials and requires Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) data submission. - CALGreen Embodied Carbon Requirements are coming into effect in 2024 and will require a 10% reduction in GWP for large non-residential and school buildings. - SB 596 aims for net-zero emissions in cement by 2045, a goal we strongly support with our low-carbon products. We’re eager to participate in the workshops outlined on Slide 45, particularly as they focus on reporting, baseline methodology, and the upcoming requirements starting in 2026. We see a real opportunity to help California’s building industry achieve its decarbonization targets, and we believe AggrePlex can play a key role in that journey. Looking forward to collaborating and being part of these important discussions!
