Public Solicitation Meeting for the upcoming research project titled Community Engagement and Community-Centric Research Roadmap: Focus on Metals Related Toxic Emissions
Categories
The California Air Resources Board (CARB or Board) has released a solicitation for pre-proposals for a project aimed at creating a community-centric research roadmap focused on toxic emissions. University of California and California State University (UC/CSU) researchers are invited to apply as principal investigators and are encouraged to form partnerships with community-based organizations (CBO) as their subcontractors. Note that only UC/CSU researchers can be principal investigators. This project aims to engage with a community or communities to create a research roadmap that is informed by the lived experience of community members to inform future research needs focusing on metals emissions. The project lead will seek out partnerships with interested community representatives and relevant community organizations to identify community priorities and design the research roadmap. While the study may be limited to a community, the roadmap should be scalable to a broader set of communities.
CARB will host a public meeting at 4:30 p.m. on June 20, 2022. At the meeting, CARB staff will provide an overview of the solicitation requirements, project details, information on finding project partners using the Empower Innovation, and be available to answer questions. Detailed information on the solicitation requirements, projects, and workshops can be found on the solicitation landing page.
