CARB has verified the ESW CleanTech Incorporated LongMile‑S diesel particulate filter system for select 1993 through 2010 model year heavy-duty diesel engines used in on-road applications. The LongMile-S system reduces emissions of diesel particulate matter by at least 85 percent and is designated as a Level 3 Plus system. The primary components of the passively-regenerated LongMile‑S system include a diesel oxidation catalyst, a silicon carbide wall-flow filter, and an electronic monitoring system. The LongMile‑S system is compatible with on‑road vehicles using diesel fuel that contains up to 20 percent biodiesel. Specific engine families and conditions for which the LongMile‑S system has been approved may be found in the Executive Order below.
