Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A. Case Settles for $8,625.00
In March 2010, Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A. (Yamaha) disclosed to the Air Resources Board (ARB) that it unintentionally imported and sold 23 generators in California that did not comply with applicable evaporative emission requirements for small off-road engines. Yamaha consequently agreed to pay $8,625 in penalties to the California Air Pollution Control Fund for those violations.
Yamaha promptly and fully cooperated with ARB in the investigation, and the case was settled in February 2013. The penalty total was applied to the 23 generators at a rate of $375 per unit.
