Western Express Transporter's Inc. Settles for $35,000

Western Express Transporters, Inc., (Western Express), located in Fresno, California, will pay $35,000 in penalties to the California Air Resources Board’s (CARB) Air Pollution Control Fund.  CARB conducted an audit of Western Express’s fleet, and discovered 20 vehicles that did not meet PM BACT as required by the compliance schedule in the Truck and Bus Regulation.

In September 2020, CARB and Western Express agreed to settle the violations for $35,000 in lieu of CARB pursuing the case with the Office of Administrative Hearings.  Western Express has agreed to comply with the Truck and Bus Regulation and will not operate noncompliant vehicles in California.
