Upper Valley Disposal Service Case Settles for $10,125
Upper Valley Disposal Service is a fully integrated solid waste company providing services in Napa County. In May 2012, Upper Valley Disposal Service agreed to pay $10,125.00 in penalties; $7,593.75 to the California Air Pollution Control Fund and $2,531.25 to the Peralta Community College District for violating air quality regulations.
An investigation by the ARB showed that Upper Valley Disposal Service failed to comply with the solid waste collection vehicle rule by neglecting to install legally required emission-reduction devices by applicable compliance dates. ARB documented violations as they related to the Solid Waste Collection Vehicle Program (SWCV). To settle the case, Upper Valley Disposal Service agreed to the $10,125.00 penalty and to comply with the SWCV program in addition to other ARB programs.
