Turtle Wax, Inc. Case Settles for $5,800.00

On October 9, 2013, a case was settled with Turtle Wax, Inc. for selling “Turtle Wax Label and Sticker Remover” subject to the VOC limit for “General Purpose Degreaser” category, title 17, California Code of Regulations, section 94509(a) from November 1, 2010 to September 1, 2011, and the “Adhesive Remover” category for products sold after December 1, 2011 to July 1, 2012. These product contained concentrations of VOC’s exceeding the 10 and 20 percent by weight VOC limits for the appropriate categories depending upon the label representations made during the specific time frames. There were approximately 0.08 tons of excess emissions and the company paid $5,800 to settle the case.
