Sunset Landscapes, Inc. Case Settles for $4,800

In June 2010, Sunset Landscapes, Inc. agreed to pay $4,800 in penalties; $3,600 to the California Air Pollution Fund and $1,200 to Peralta Community College District, for violating air quality regulations.  An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Sunset Landscapes failed to properly self-inspect their diesel trucks to assure the trucks met state smoke emission standards.  ARB documented violations as they related to the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP).  To settle the case, Sunset Landscapes agreed to the $4,800 penalty and to comply with the PSIP and other ARB programs.
