Shoei Kisen Kaisha Ltd. Case Settles for $10,000.00

Shoei Kisen Kaisha Ltd. has paid $10,000.00 in penalties to the California Air Pollution Control Fund, for violating air quality regulations. This settlement was reached on February 22, 2013. An investigation by the ARB showed that the Shoei Kisen Kaisha Ltd. vessel, Columbia Highway, failed to operate on compliant distillate fuel upon entry into Regulated California Waters. Shoei Kisen Kaisha Ltd. took prompt action after being notified of these violations and under ARB’s supervision began operating in a compliant fashion. To settle the case, Shoei Kisen Kaisha Ltd. agreed to the $10,000.00 penalty and to comply with ARB regulations.
