Seve's Meats Incorporated Case Settles for $9,000
On August 10, 2010, Seve’s Meats Incorporated agreed to pay $9,000 in penalties for violating air quality regulations; $6,750 will go to the California Air Pollution Control Fund and $2,250 to the Peralta Community College District for distribution to participating California Community Colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) program. Seve’s Meats Incorporated (SMI) failed to comply with the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP) by not smoke testing their fleet of diesel vehicles. SMI also failed to bring their fleet of Transport Refrigeration Units (TRUs) into compliance with California Code of Regulations Title 13, Section 2477 in-use performance standard. SMI agreed to a $9,000 settlement and to comply with the PSIP and TRU in-use performance standard.
