This is CARB's notice of approval for San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District's (APCD) submitted Project Plan to fund replacement of commercial lawn and garden equipment in the communities of South Central Fresno and Shafter, both selected for participation in Assembly Bill (AB) 617 through development of Community Emissions Reduction Programs. This measure will reduce oxides of nitrogen and fine particulate matter emissions from commercial lawn and garden equipment by providing incentives to lawn care providers for the replacement of their existing gas- or diesel-powered landscape maintenance equipment with new electric landscape maintenance equipment. The program will also provide incentive funds for additional batteries and chargers to ensure that equipment is capable of operating for a full day of work.
