Pro Clean Up, Inc. Case Settles for $6,750.00
In January 2014, Pro Clean Up, Inc. paid $6,750 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $5,062.50 went to the California Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $1,687.50 went to the Peralta Colleges Foundation to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California Community Colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology Program.
An investigation by the ARB showed that Pro Clean Up, Inc. failed to comply with the solid waste collection vehicle rule by neglecting to install legally required emission-reduction devices by applicable compliance dates. Pro Clean Up, Inc. also failed to properly self-inspect their diesel vehicles to assure that vehicles met state smoke emission standards. ARB documented violations as they related to the Solid Waste Collection Vehicle Program (SWCV) and the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP). To settle the case, Pro Clean Up, Inc. agreed to the $6,750 penalty and to comply with the SWCV and PSI programs in addition to other ARB programs.
