The quality of the air inside our homes, schools, and workplaces is important to health, particularly when we spend most of our lives indoors. Sources of indoor air pollution can include building materials, gas appliances, cooking activities, cleaning products, personal care products, and room furnishings. Our health is improved and protected when we identify and reduce sources of indoor air pollutants.
CARB's Indoor Air Program sponsors and conducts indoor air quality research, develops indoor air quality recommendations, provides educational resources to the public, and regulates indoor air cleaners so that consumers can be assured of their safety.
