Abrasive Blasting Program
There are two components to the California Air Resources Board's (CARB) abrasive blasting program; the registration of portable equipment used in the application of abrasives and the certification of abrasive materials. Certification is required for abrasives used for permissible dry blasting outside of a permanent building. Abrasives that are not the same chemically and physically, are not the same grade, and are not mined and produced at the same location, using the same processes, are certified separately.
