OMC Transport, Inc. Settles For $17,950
OMC Transport, Inc. (OMC Transport) of Torrance, California will pay $17,950 in penalties for violating California Air Resources Board (CARB) air quality regulations. $17,950 will go to CARB’s Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California’s air quality. This settlement was reached in May 2021.
An investigation by CARB showed that OMC Transport failed to comply with the Drayage Truck Regulation (DTR) by dispatching noncompliant vehicles to California BNSF railyards, failing to register a drayage vehicle into the Drayage Truck Registry, and failing to provide dispatch records to CARB in a timely manner. CARB also identified violations of the Emission Control Label (ECL) program. To settle the case, OMC Transport agreed to the $17,950 penalty and to comply with the DTR Program, ECL Program, and other CARB programs.
