Release of Public Solicitation for Assembly Bill 32 Environmental Justice Advisory Committee Members

The California Air Resources Board (CARB or Board) is seeking 11 individuals with environmental justice, equity, and community experience on Assembly Bill (AB) 32 programs to apply to serve on the Environmental Justice Advisory Committee (EJAC or Committee). EJAC members serve as a state advisory body to the Board on AB 32-related program implementation, as described in the Charter.
Who Can Apply?
Applicants may include current EJAC members, community-based organizations, California Native American Tribes, industry-related or sustainable transportation and freight organizations, labor market and workforce representatives, non-profit organizations, and education/government entities from regions across California. New members will serve on the Committee for a 36-month term, which will begin on the date the EJAC member is first appointed by the Board through 2029. Applicants may include alternate representatives from their organization who also would need to apply and meet the requirements.
CARB will prioritize the following criteria in the selection of new members:
Representatives from communities in the State with the most significant exposure to air pollution, including but not limited to communities with minority populations or low-income populations, or both, pursuant to AB 32 statute and California Health and Safety Code section 38591.
Geographic representation across California, including underrepresented communities.
Candidates who possess environmental justice / community experience.
Candidates who possess expertise / knowledge in relevant AB 32 sectors.
