The Community Air Protection Program (CAP Program), established by the California Air Resource Board (CARB) to implement Assembly Bill (AB) 617 (C. Garcia, Chapter 136, Statutes of 2017), is working with air districts and communities impacted by high cumulative air toxic emissions and exposure to support community-focused action to reduce air pollution. CARB’s Funding Guidelines require expenditure records to document how their investments will further the purposes of Assembly Bill 32, contribute to achieving greenhouse gas emission reductions and other health and environmental co-benefits, and meet other statutory requirements.
