You may have accessed this web page due to a registration notice from DMV. An example is shown below. CARB is actively enforcing legislative mandates that require registration holds due to noncompliance with CARB regulations.
If your vehicle's model year is 2010 or older, it is possible that your vehicle does not comply with the Truck and Bus regulation and may be the reason you have a registration hold on your vehicle. For more information, please visit the TruckStop DMV page.
The registration hold may also have been placed by CARB enforcement based on their authority to place registration holds due to noncompliance with any CARB regulation. If you need assistance with determining why the vehicle is non-compliant with CARB regulation(s) and what you need to do to bring the vehicle into compliance, please contact the Hotline at 1-866-634-3735.
Beginning in 2024, the registration hold may also be due to not meeting the compliance requirements for the Clean Truck Check program. For information on that program, click on the Clean Truck Check (HD I/M) link on the left.
