Road in green rolling hills

Light-Duty Equity and Clean Mobility

CARB invests in a suite of transportation equity projects aimed at increasing access to clean transportation and mobility options for priority populations, including disadvantaged and low-income communities and lower-income households. This includes clean vehicle purchasing projects, clean mobility investments, streamlining access to funding and financing opportunities, and increasing community outreach, education and exposure to clean technologies. Clean Transportation Equity projects exemplify the importance of understanding the unique needs across communities and provide lessons for how we most directly address barriers to collectively achieve our equity, air quality, and climate goals.

For additional information on the barriers and opportunities to increasing access to clean transportation and mobility options for priority populations, see the SB 350 Low-Income Barriers Report. More information on priority populations and CalEnviroscreen is available from the Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment.
